My experiences with a variety of mufflers and pipe are I did lose some low end smoothness with a minimally restrictive or open system, gained it back with a good muffler. I'm using the Rassk with a foot cut off for the head pipe with a HD stock glasspac muffler. Good sound and sound control with very little restriction. Muffler is 1/2 of 88 cuin set, our savages are 40 cuin so it is still oversize air flow wise. Max
